don't panic. this guy explained it pretty good - quote from kagitaar;
"Sigh, more half understood information. First, Activision-Blizzard is the holding company and Activision, Blizzard, Infinity Ward, etc are subsidiaries of it. The holding company has the cash and it has to pay if the dividend is called. This is not taking operating funds from the subsidiaries, it will be taking their spare cash held by the holding company used for quick acquisitions. Only about half of the cash is offshore, so only that portion would be taxed if they chose to use it instead of borrowing some to finish off the dividend.
For that matter, debt is not a bad thing in business, it's part of normal operations. For a personal example, as long as you can pay off your credit card in a reasonable way, using it is not going to ruin you financially."
So please read my question again guys and tell me what you think. I am curious.
(Speaking for myself, I think they're still fine with the initial concept idea!)
He takes entire ideas and concepts that have been worked on for ages and scraps them and says no start from scratch I didn't like it.
People that are still playing wow need to boycott that Hamsters rock, Squirrels suck!. It needs to get shut down or turned free to play disaster merging servers scrambling to pull money together and force them to either man up or go under
shut up with jay wilson this has nothing to do with him.
It is almost a self fulfilling prophecy with Blizzard; they want to create a great game, but, due to the development length, the game falls short of being cutting edge, which leads to updates, which means delays, but, due to the development length the game falls short of being cutting edge, which leads to further updates and delays.... etc etc.
yea i hope that they dont delay it again in 3 years or even completely shut it down.
"one of the best talents in the industry"... lol.
this news sucks. i really hope now that they give us something worldbreaking when it releases.
i am okay with delays, but at the same time, i get higher expectations for titan when reading "major overhaul".
this is something ive discussed with you mynsc months ago. remember? titan gets older and older even if it is not announced yet - and that cannot last forever because technologies advances.
so it was clear to me - either they release it somewhere 2014-2015, or they HAVE to delay the project because it's simply getting too old - and exactly that happened now.
what if you can actually buy players as a guild master? like in a soccer game. players are rated, have different strenghts and weakness, and of course differenz prices. if a player accepts your buyout, he cannot leave your guild for let's say 5 months, because of the agreement. therefore he gets money and both are happy.
or to ask another question: what if you could buy NPCs for you/your guild?
but i think it also fits perfectly in a more futuristic game! just imagine it. the game doesn't need to be a fantasy one.
i think with character looks like these it takes away a big portion of the aesthetic potential, because you don't see the body features, the face, hair, beard etc...
character creation should allow you to define the boobs&booty size, your overall bodyshape, your legs and should be especially detailed in the facial area. you should be able to pick a body color, body tattoos, use eyeliners, stuff like that. maybe even choose a dance style when you first create your char. i think for a next gen MMO this is the minimum as we all love to create our own unique character.
btw. @ templar: i think they will have something for everyone as blizzard already stated titan will have more broad appeal and for me that also means more customization, because a broader audience also needs more customization options. imagine 5000 people look all very different and unique (in terms of body shape AND equipment), and now imagine 500.000 people all look nearly the same. i'd definitely pick to go with the first crowd.
but what I would really like to see is a body type scale, allowing you to choose between a Muscular build, skinny, fat or whatever is possibly available to add to it. This in my opinion has the potential to add more variety than having the ability to edit every shape, color, size, etc. of every facial feature like shown here in Rift(I'm only using Rift as an example because thats the only game I know with customization that deep).
i like all these videos, pretty nice. but what if you actually have to work, to do something to keep your body fit and muscular? if you often wield 2h weapons in combat you probably get a very strong and muscular look some day. if you are a healer and you don't want to get fat you have to run and do sports more often to stay fit and in good, thin shape. so yes, body type scaling is pretty cool, but wouldn't it be cool if you have to do something to maintain your favourite body type? that'd make the game more addictive hehe.
btw. what about armor painting for transmogrification?
in 10man you know everyone, it is much more personal.
in 10man you also need coordination but its much more comfortable.
but you could also say in 10man the coordination is at least as exacting as in 40man, if not much more because in 40man you have every "class" and talents, in 10man probably not, so you have to choose your setup wisely (except if it is a game where everything is perfectly homogenized - which i would find very disappointing).
in 10man all the spell effects are not as dramatic as in 40man, where your screen is often overloaded with flashy FX. that's not so cool.
in 10man it matters if someone dies (in 40man too, of course, but not as much). so 10man gameplay is somewhat intense.
its not about the size. 10man or 15 can also be very dramatic.
all represents my opinion - and i believe the one of many others.
if you are the one who believes 10man sucks feel free to post why you think this way, i would like to read more about people who like 40mans.
I also want a NPC which will teach me new dancing moves and improving the ones that i have by default
or animate/edit a dance style by yourself. make adjustments how your hips are moving, the legs etc. nothing too complicated for the player, but it gives you a very unique feeling.
Allow those banks to give loans also for like housing or vehicles. If they do not pay a monthly fee for them then repo them.
This sounds very interesting!!
and oh yes, i dont want to farm gear to be good. in an action shooter you dont need gear to be good, you need fast reflexes and tactical experience, same with strategy games. i want that to be transferred into a MMO too. maybe not on the PvE side, but PvP!
I want Player versus Player, and not Player versus Equipment. And of course get away of these perfectly homogenized classes. Each player should have individual strenghts. For example; a sniper has long range abilities and stealth, but if he gets spotted and in focus, he'd be in trouble - so his skill lies in the players ability to stay unseen and help out your friends on the battlefield from afar.
Horrorshow's point "*Easy to learn hard to master PvP, in all aspects, AKA being more about timing, positioning and reflexes." is really good and I like it a lot.
