Firebat the winner of Blizzcon HS tournament is truly one of the good guys. I thought I'd give him some recognition for being such a nice guy by posting this here.
Was watching his stream a day ago and noticed (together with people in chat) that he has disabled the possibility to donate money to his stream. I thought that was strange since he is more known now than ever so he could earn more money.
He goes on to say on his stream that reason he has turned off the donating functionality is because he just won 100k from Blizzcon and people should donate the money they intended to donate to him to other streams that would need the money.
There was a new patch in beginning of November. This patch greatly improved flight controls and views from your ship. Anyway, one must probably play in order to feel the difference but the general opinion in the official forums are thumbs up.
Here is a video from the latest patch and there is no way for us the viewers to get a feel for the patch but what caught my eyes in this video is the first 20 seconds.
The details when this players shoots at the other ship and the other ship starts to fall apart before the player gets the killing shot. Small details like seeing parts falling off from the other ship looks so good. If they can nail the MMO part of this game this game will become as successful as the kickstarter campaign for it.
The physics are incredible.
If only they would allow your characters to have a say...red lazer sword and a black cape the game would be perfect
I wonder if Disney's lawyers would be on the case if there was some lazer swords and black capes added to the game. Star Citizen is what a Star Wars MMO should look like.
Maybe the opening ceremony will change this, although I have my doubts about Overwatch. I do have one certainty though: it cannot in any way be considered Titan's successor. There's no possible transition between a massive second-life MMO and probably a tablet-friendly top-down strategy.
In the words of the wise "50 cent": Get hyped or die trying!
I'm having doubts about the Virtual Ticket this year, especially since I've just spent 65 euros on WoD + race change and I kinda need to get a transfer as well.
The Opening Ceremony + HS / SC tournaments are all streamed for free. After that, unless they tease Overwatch in the opening ceremony and it looks interesting, there's not much else that interests me this year. I mean it would be hilarious to talk a lot about Titan now, considering they only reserved the last 5 minutes of the last interview for it in the past, when it was not-dead.
There's also the fact taht I'm on weekend shifts, so I can cope with University, which means I won't be able to stay after 2-3 AM, unless I want to be a complete zombie at work.
I'll definitely be on chat and keeping an ear to the ground for any awesome news, but that's about it I think, unless the Opening Ceremony is nuts!
Check previous page Nempiri.
It's quite detailed and well put together, however that does not really mean anything. Plus there's this comment.
This is what we have been waiting for all these years. This is the night Titan Overwatch (the scraps/juicy combat part that are left from Titan) will be revealed and we have much to discuss about which classes we will be playing, what is OP, what classes that are still left to be revealed, will they include a spectator mode from the beginning and will Idra once more jump to this bandwagon from Heroes of the storm that he is currently on.
And oh, Blizzard will probably charge us for the new game and not make it completely free so there will be some whining about that too.
You won't be a zombie at work, that's what espresso is for!
This weekend they showcased Star Citizen at Pax in Austraila. And they showed the FPS module that was announced a while back. Not sure I like them including an FPS module in this game but at least it looks good
First here is the description/purpose of the FPS in this game:
"I'm a stealthy, solo player. I find a wrecked ship, I know scavengers will be around soon. I find a crate and put myself in it. I let the scavengers take the crate and put me in their ship. When I'm on their ship, some time later, I get out of the crate. Very quietly, I rummage around and find some goodies I like. I steal those... now i can either - A) Jump out the airlock and call a ride or go to their engine room and self destruct their ship or C) quietly hunt and execute the entire staff and take their ship.... or Z) they could have scanned the crate properly before loading it, blasted it with their ship and me with it...."
It really sounds like the early rumors that said that every player has two lives, one for combat and one for social interaction.
Here is hoping that the real mess was in the social part with the AI/cities and all meaning they have broken out the combat part of the game and that will be the base for a new game.
I just don't believe that after 7 years of work with a huge team like that they just scrap everything. I want to believe that there were good parts in Titan (overshadowed by the bad parts) and the good parts could be a solid base for a completely new small scale game.
If you are into space and aliens and stuff and you have some time, get a cup of favourite beverage sit back and enjoy this fascinating article.
The article that I came across is about the Fermi Paradox:
Fermi Paradox is the apparent contradiction between high estimates of the probability of the existence of extraterrestrial civilization and humanity's lack of contact with, or evidence for, such civilizations.
