Also, check-out the Timeline we've put together, for a clearer picture on the evolution of the game and of what we know about it.
What is Titan?
It is Blizzard's unannounced next-gen MMO. It's a massive project started from zero.
It's rumoured to be a FPS with RPG elements and with a highly social side, but take all this info with a grain of salt.If you did take it with a grain of salt, good for you! During the Q1 2012 Results Conference Call, Blizzard gave a huge hint that it will primarily be an MMORPG.
Is it WoW2 / World of Starcraft / Halo MMO / CoD MMO?
NO. It is a brand new franchise, with story, art and gameplay built from the ground up.
Update: Some info has come up that points to Titan being a spin off from one of the already existing franchises (not Warcraft).
What kind of name is Titan anyway?
It is an internal codename used by Blizzard and not the game's actual title. We have no clue what the real name will be. It can't be "Titan" because it's already been trademarked by a different company.
When will it be officially announced? When will actual info start coming in?
We don't know. Definitely not in 2013.
When will it be launched?
We don't really know yet (I doubt even Blizzard knows exactly). According to the leaked product slate, we should be looking at a Q4 2013 launch. That's extremely unlikely though, especially since Blizzard has recently announced that they've reset the project and are looking into new paths for it. Current rumor is that the new release date is planned for 2016.
Do we know anything about its lore / universe?
It will probably be a post-apocalyptic, historic SciFi. There's also a high chance that time travel will be heavily used, even as a game-play mechanic. Everything is up in the air though, "thanks" to the reset.
Will it be casual?
Blizzard has never said this and we have no reason to believe it will be. All they said is that it will have a broad appeal, which basically means it will cater for all types of players: casual, hardcore and everything in between. Like any of their games basically.
How far along in development is it?
In October 2012, Titan was in the middle of development, with over 100 people working on it. A clear progress from the status report we received at Blizzcon 2011.
At the end of May 2013 though the project was temporarily put on hold, with most devs (70+) being moved to different teams and those remaining looking for a new direction.
Will it be out for consoles too?
It will primarily be a PC game, but there are rumors that it's also being prepared for the next-gen XBOX console.
Will it be F2P or will it have a subscription?
Want to read more? Here are a few thoeries we came up with or teasers we got from Blizzard folks.
More will be added as things evolve. If you have a question that you think should be here, give me a message / email / tweet etc
